Dear family and friends,
Last year I ran my first half marathon here in Oakland, CA, where I live. It was painful, but I made it across the finish line just under my goal of 2:00:00 and got to cheer on my APEN teammates.
On March 24, I'll be running the Oakland Half Marathon again: 13.1 miles around the city. This year I'm feeling prepared and am hoping to finish in 1:50:00 (!)
As I run, I am raising money for Asian Pacific Environmental Network, or APEN, a local community organization that fights for environmental justice in Asian Pacific Islander communities in the Bay Area. APEN does work around issues like climate change policy and green jobs both locally and on a state level. You can read more about them here.
