I invite you to support me and the folks at APEN! People who know me know that I don't do marathons. The closest I get to running is when I watch my son chase a ball around at soccer practice. So to say I'm doing a 5k at the Oakland Marathon for APEN is to say a lot....in my mind at least. But you have to start somewhere. For me, a 5k is a reasonable goal where I should stop making excuses and just get out and try. Sure I might mix in a little walking with the running but I know that I will finish what I'm signing up to do. It's worth the pain because the fine folks at APEN are the ones doing the real work. Check out this sentence in their mission statement, ***"All people have a right to a clean and healthy environment in which their communities can live, work, learn, play and thrive."*** That sums it up for me! Let's support APEN and their work to champion environmental fights for Asian and Pacific Islander communities. FINE PRINT: As an added bonus, donors who give $50 or more will get their name on my running shirt. This is your chance to sponsor my arms, legs, heart, lungs, neck, shoulders, spine, kidneys, stomach, etc. (obvious exceptions apply). Donate today! Thank you! (And if for nothing else, then for my precious daughter who celebrated her first birthday in February.)
