Hi, everyone! Before I begin rambling on about why I joined Team APEN to run the Oakland marathon, you have to know a "little" bit about my girlfriend Jing Jing. She is one of the most wonderful and beautiful women that I have gotten the great honor to spend part of my life with. The other six are my two sisters, Téa and Zoe, my two moms, Joan and Jill, and my two grandmothers: Sandra and Elaine. Jing Jing signed me up for the marathon because she knows I can run. Most importantly, she loves nagging me. Anyway, for those of you who know me well, you know I love to play sports! So this shouldn’t come as a surprise to you guys that I am now running another marathon. However, this time, instead of running the whole 26.2 miles all by myself, I am actually joining a relay team.
I want to show my girlfriend how much support she can expect from me with doing what she loves. Therefore, I would like to use this chance of being in Team APEN, to fundraise for creating/maintaining a clean and healthy environment, in which our community members can live, work, learn, play and thrive. I never knew how much work it takes to maintain a clean and healthy environment that benefits everyone in the community, until I learned about her work schedule, which sometimes goes from 7am-9pm. The least I can do to support her work is offer her hugs and kisses at the end of her workday and also participate in fun events like running for Team APEN. For those of you who are still reading, the least you can do is hit the donate button and put in some of your donation quotas for the year. Your donation will serve as a thank you token for people, like my girlfriend, and organizations, like APEN, who will continue their fight with big polluters, such as Chevron.
