APEN - the Asian Pacific Environmental Network (http://apen4ej.org/), is a great Oakland environmental justice nonprofit. Their vision is Bay Area-wide, and they 1) organize low income immigrant/refugee communities; 2) promote policies that are good for people and the environment, and 3) increase voter engagement to help make good ideas a reality locally.
