Running 4 Ecological Justice!

The Asian Pacific Environmental Network is an AMAZING Bay Area organization that aims for nothing less than social, economic and ecological justice through community empowerment!!! Their triple strategy of organizing, public policy and civic engagement is off the hook!!! They are some badass organizers, so I decided to help raise money for their work by running with their team this year!

APEN is a shining example of the future of our movement. While traditionally our communities have been divided along the lines of race, class, gender and environmental borders, there is a new vision rising that combines the wisdom learned from years of organizing with the youthful passion for unity through joyful struggle! With a sharp focus on Asian and Pacific Islander communities in and around the Bay, APEN is one of the leaders in the critical fight to stop Chevron from building of the Keystone XL pipeline which threaten's to create a "cancer alley" in Richmond. Other critical fights in Oakland include: 2004-06: Stopped the evictions of low-income residents from Pacific Renaissance Plaza and won affordable housing in the neighborhood 2006: Won free health screenings for AXT factory workers 2006: Won affordable housing for the Oak-to-Ninth development What?! How can we not support these folks?! Not only that, APEN is working on REAL SOLUTIONS by pushing for clean energy alternatives that provide jobs, as well as progressive legislation at the state house. SUPPORT me in my run with APEN and you'll be making an investment in our FUTURE.
