APEN is turning 18 this year and we are going to the polls in style for our 18th anniversary celebration this coming November 17, 2011, at the beautiful Scottish Rite building by Lake Merritt in Oakland. We are contacting our most committed allies and supporters to join us as event sponsors in celebrating how far we have all come together, the amazing opportunity to transform our community that is in front of us, and in celebration of our new expanding efforts to mobilize the API immigrant vote across the state.

Our 18th Anniversary celebration is going to be a momentous and fun-filled evening for APEN community leaders, members, our many supporters, and new friends alike. We will be celebrating 18 years as one of the leading environmental justice networks in the country, and one of the few organizations building grassroots power within the low income APA community to participate effectively in the fight for healthy communities and environmental justice on the local and state levels.
This event will showcase how APEN is mobilizing the API vote to build the powerful base of supporters needed to transition CA to a green and just economy, and highlight the importance of leadership from the Asian Pacific American community in issues critical to our state and country, such as climate change.
